Common Retirement Wishes

Retirement wishes that people have are remarkably consistent. The basic needs common to this stage of life are easy to predict because many retirees want the same things. Fulfilling these wishes can make almost anyplace one of the best places to retire.

What do you want when you retire? Do you want the same things that you wanted before you retired? The answers to these questions can be found in looking at the major things that people wish to have when they reach this stage of life.

Some retirement dreams are simple. Others are often unexpected by those who have not reached this life stage. These wishes are easy to understand once you take the time to look at them.

Health

Who doesn't want perfect health? Health is a major concern for those of retirement age because without health you do not have much. A happy life usually has good health as its foundation. Poor health is an obstacle to happiness for many which is why people are lucky that they can do so much to improve and maintain their health.

Security

This refers to both physical security and financial security. Everyone wants to feel safe. Whether this means feeling safe when going to events at night or feeling safe when something goes wrong in your own home, security is critical to happiness.

You need to know that if something like a fall does happen that you will be taken care of. Financially, this just means that you want to be able to live a comfortable lifestyle in a nice home without any worries. Having to be concerned about finances is not on anyone's wish list and is certainly not a retirement wish for retirees.

Education

Some are surprised by the drive of retirees to keep learning. The thirst for knowledge does not decline in retirement. It is as strong as ever.

Retirees often wish to continue learning and picking up new skills after retirement. It gives them a chance to use their minds and to have an additional purpose in life. Learning new things regularly keeps anyone's mind sharp and focused. The desire to learn is a characteristic of a person who is hungry for life.

Retirement wishes can come in all shapes and sizes, but these are some of the most common ones. People want to be healthy, safe, and want to keep learning after they retire. These wishes may sound simple, but they can provide the foundation for a happy life and a happy home.
